May Lunch Meeting

Please join us for lunch of Tuesday, May 26th from 11:45am — 1:15pm at Quinn’s (located in the Crabtree Marriott main lobby next to the Crabtree Grill).

Topic: “Utilizing Internal Communications to Strengthen PR Efforts”

Speakers: Becky Graebe, Internal Communications Manager, SAS; Dave Thomas, Social Media Manager, SAS

What: Continually rated as one of the top places to work, SAS is leading the way in integrating social media into communications. Becky Graebe and Dave Thomas from SAS’ Internal Communications and Public Relations groups will talk about how they successfully use internal communications channels – namely social media – to strengthen the company’s PR efforts.

As Internal Communications Manager at SAS, Becky Graebe oversees traditional employee communication efforts, the intranet and internal Web 2.0 channels to ensure the company’s 11,000 employees and 400 offices around the world are well-informed and connected. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Stetson University and is an active member of the International Association of Business Communicators.

Dave Thomas is Social Media Manager at SAS, where he integrates Web 2.0 and social media into the marketing mix. Actively involved in social media since 1994 when he joined his first Internet forum and blogging since 2002 when he wrote the daily update for Iceland Airwaves music festival, Dave is a member of the company’s Marketing 2.0 Council, the steering committee and think tank for social media at SAS. He is a graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro with a degree in English.

When: Tuesday, May 26th, 11:45 am to 1:15 pm

Where: Quinn’s at Crabtree Marriott, located at 4500 Marriott Drive in Raleigh, across from Crabtree Valley Mall.

Cost: $12 for members, $20 for non-members (includes speaker and lunch)
