2018 Spring Networking Breakfast Recap

We had another great Spring Networking Breakfast, filled with insightful conversations and new connections. Those in attendance had the opportunity to take part in “speed interviewing” with industry-related topics. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast thanks to the team at Backyard Bistro. Check out some of the photos below:

RPRS Spring Social in Review

Thank you, Backyard Bistro, for putting together such a fantastic spread for our Spring Networking Social this morning!

We had a great turnout of members and guests who arrived bright and early for the chance to meet fellow local public relations and communications professionals via an informal, but super effective session of speed networking.

Our icebreaker question, “What superpower would you like to have?”, generated lots of fun responses: time travel, teleportation, and of course, what every communications practitioner would love to have… the ability to read our clients minds! The icebreaker was a great way to kick off discussions at each table over the tasty breakfast spread catered by our gracious hosts at Backyard Bistro.

This recap wouldn’t be complete without a special shout-out to RPRS Membership, Chair Olivia Easly, who coordinated a great event for us today — especially on her first day of vacation from the office!

If you couldn’t make it, you missed out on a great start to the day, but we’d love to see you at our next monthly lunch event: April RPRS Lunch Meeting: City of Raleigh—Government Communications.

Recap of January Lunch Meeting on Proofreading

During our January 26th lunch meeting, our Membership Chair Glenn Gillen of S&A Communications shared a plethora of great advice for proofreading. He included tips for strategies on proofreading, common punctuation and grammar mistakes, and a list of proofreading resources.

Here’s a few of Glenn’s great tips that our members shared on Twitter during the event:
