Communications & Marketing Manager – Dix Park Conservancy

Position Description
This manager level position oversees the marketing and communication efforts of the Conservancy as the voice in support of Dorothea Dix Park. This person will manage and design consistent messaging across all brand channels bridging together leadership, marketing, development, and culture communications to create a unified organizational presence. This position will support leadership in using narrative to connect the past, present, and future to increase awareness and affinity and facilitate insight, meaning, and purpose. A successful candidate will have a great eye for design, a passion for story and narrative structure, a skillful understanding of data reporting and analytics, and a deeply personal approach to linking the personal and the professional.

Position Responsibilities
• Coordinate and execute external communications strategies across the organization
• Manage, coordinate, and oversee digital and print/traditional communications (website, social media, email campaigns, etc.)
• Design, produce, and print publications (materials, bulletins, brochures, etc.)
• Serve as brand steward managing design, typography, and overall visual identity in the online and offline spaces
• Prepare, manage, and build out communications assets including social media, media releases, and website, oral histories, case studies, community presentations, newsletters, etc.
• Manage media relations and develop contacts with media community members, influencers, and community leaders to achieve objectives and outcomes
• Collaborate with partners (including the City of Raleigh) and committees to coordinate communication strategies and social media campaigns
• Accomplishes organizational objectives by supervising staff, including organizing, assigning, and monitoring work processes
• Manage, design, and track digital marketing initiatives (including search engine optimization, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook advertising)
• Track engagement across various platforms to inform data-driven decisions to improve content and grow awareness of Conservancy vision, purpose, and objectives
• Develop and manage communications budget to meet strategic and financial objectives
• Identifies communication needs and researches communication technologies and engagement tools
• Monitors and administers assigned service contracts, promotion budgets, and/or procurement processes for required materials
• Staff support for board committees where appropriate
• Other duties as assigned by President/CEO

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline
• 5-plus years of communications, marketing or public relations or related experience
• Experience managing digital content across various social media platforms
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Non-Profit experience preferred

Competencies
• Ability to work effectively with teams, manage responsibilities, and meet deadlines
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, layout, and design skills
• Platform/program proficiencies: Microsoft Suite, Constant Contact, Adobe Suite, Google Suite, YouTube/Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Squarespace or similar Web Platforms
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
• Experience with digital marketing, across media platforms

JOB ALERT: Digital Content Producer, North Carolina Museum of History

The primary purpose of the Digital Content Producer is to create marketing and communication strategies along with partnering with key constituents while creating a place where people can explore, learn, and enjoy programs, events, and exhibitions that celebrate North Carolina’s past, present, and future.

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement marketing, branding, and public relations communications plans.
  • Work as a team with various Museum of History staff and constituents to create, implement, and maintain over time a comprehensive digital marketing and communications strategy.
  • Copy edit and create results-oriented communications with a focus on researching and sourcing content assets inclusive of audio, video, and photo for use in short-form content.
  • Creating, writing, and editing short-form content assets such as video clips for social media, scripts, blurbs, infographics, ads, etc. Also, recording and editing long-form live event projects and virtual offerings and YouTube download capabilities.
  • Conceptualize and develop thematic approaches, B-Roll, and storylines in collaboration with Marketing and Digital Marketing.
  • Ensure that video calendar rollouts are well organized.
  • Conduct interviews with staff, influencers, and relevant personnel to create original content.
  • Understand and keep abreast of the latest trends and features on key social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. Gather biweekly video analytics.
  • Interpret social engagement and insights to help shape campaign narratives.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, relevant, timely, aligned with the content/marketing strategy, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, optimized for search and user experience, executes the agreed-upon marketing strategy, and is up to the standard of the North Carolina Museum of History.
  • Other projects are assigned at the discretion of the Director of Communications and Marketing.
  • A strong work ethic and a team player approach are necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Division of State History Museums collects and preserves artifacts and other historical materials relating to the history and heritage of North Carolina in a local, regional, national and international context to assist people in understanding how the past influences the present. The Division interprets history through exhibitions, educational programs, and publications available to the visitor on-site or distance-learning technologies.

Job Description: BBB serving Eastern NC is looking for an employee with great organizational, interpersonal and PR skills to help perpetuate the BBB brand through various platforms, programs, and initiatives within BBB’s 33-county service area. The Communications Specialist will assist with asset and campaign creation, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations, and performing other activities to enhance the presence of BBB within the community.

This position reports to BBB’s Director of Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan, implement and execute both virtual and in-person events and seminars.
  • Create and design graphics for social media use, internal distribution, and relevant campaigns.
  • Write 4-6 press releases per month.
  • Record and edit BBB podcast.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with relevant organizations and community partners. Participate in appropriate community collaborations.
  • Conduct outreach activities designed to create awareness about BBB. Outreach activities include public presentations, participation in community events, and one on one engagement with Accredited Businesses and community stakeholders.
  • Create new programs to better inform specific age demographics about the services BBB has to offer.
  • Submit monthly reports related to outreach activities to the Director of Communications.
  • Display excellent communication skills required in working with coworkers, BBB Accredited Business members, and the general public and including the ability to communicate effectively, work with people of diverse social, economic, educational, ethnic and cultural backgrounds;
